Darshan emphasized that public asset maintenance is crucial for project implementation, requiring departments to maintain assets for 3-5 years post-completion before handover to the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC). This addresses concerns about wasted investment, particularly from projects like those by Mangaluru Smart City Ltd. Darshan also lamented the issue of "black spots" caused by residents improperly disposing of waste, despite MCC installing CCTV cameras to monitor dumping.
