Assam MP Pradyut Bordoloi May Quit Congress Over Lahorighat Ticket Dispute

Nagaon MP Pradyut Bordoloi has expressed his intention to quit the Congress party if MLA Asif Nazar is renominated for the Lahorighat Assembly seat. Bordoloi alleged that Nazar is associated with a criminal, Emdadul Islam, who was arrested for an attack on Bordoloi in April 2025. He claims Nazar welcomed Islam upon release and facilitated his felicitation by party leader Gaurav Gogoi. Bordoloi has raised these concerns with Congress leaders, including Priyanka Gandhi and the Central Election Committee, but alleges his evidence was dismissed.
