Government to Launch Revamped Stand-Up India Scheme for SC, ST, and Women Entrepreneurs

The Indian government plans to introduce a revamped Stand-Up India scheme aimed at providing enhanced benefits to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and women entrepreneurs seeking to establish new businesses. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated the new scheme will incorporate lessons from the original program, which expired on March 31, 2025. The original scheme offered loans between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 1 crore with flexible repayment terms. Options for increasing loan amounts and other improvements are under consideration, with a proposal expected soon for Cabinet approval.
