UP CM Orders Statewide Crackdown on Chinese Manjha, Deaths to Be Treated as Murder

Following the death of Mohammad Shoaib in Lucknow caused by a banned synthetic 'Chinese manjha' kite string, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered a strict statewide crackdown. He directed police to treat deaths from such strings as murder, launch intensive raids, and dismantle the supply chain. Despite existing bans due to safety and environmental concerns, the dangerous nylon strings coated with glass continue to cause fatalities and injuries. Authorities emphasized zero tolerance and regular high-level reviews to enforce the ban and protect public safety.
