Maharashtra Derecognises 107 Board Exam Centres Over Malpractice Reports

The Maharashtra government has derecognised 107 examination centres for Class 10 and 12 board exams following reported malpractices around January 13. Preventive measures include mandatory CCTV cameras, replacement of staff at centres lacking coverage, deployment of drones and special squads, and district-level vigilance committees chaired by District Collectors. Flying squads conduct surprise visits, and strict legal actions under the Maharashtra Prevention of Malpractices Act are enforced. Earlier, drone footage revealed large-scale copying at a Beed district centre, resulting in suspension of 17 teachers.
