Delhi High Court Summons Arnab Goswami in Congress Defamation Case Over Turkey Office Claim

The Delhi High Court has issued summons to Republic TV editor Arnab Goswami in a defamation suit filed by the Indian National Congress over a May 2025 broadcast claiming the party operated an office in Istanbul, Turkey. The Congress seeks Rs 2 crore in damages, asserting the claim was false and harmed its reputation. The broadcast showed the Istanbul Congress Centre, a municipal convention venue, not a party office. Republic TV later apologized for the error, but the Congress maintains the apology is insufficient. The case will be heard on May 19.
