The government has notified draft rules for all four labor codes, including the Code on Wages and the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code. These rules propose a 48-hour weekly working limit and mandatory Aadhaar-linked registration for unorganized workers aged 16 and above. The draft rules also detail a National Social Security Board for gig and platform workers. Public comments are being sought within 30-45 days, with existing rules remaining in effect during the transition.
