
CPI(M) state secretary M V Govindan criticized former MLA Aisha Potty for joining the Congress, calling her move opportunistic and motivated by a desire for power. Govindan alleged Potty was inactive in CPI(M) and accused the Congress and opposition leader V D Satheesan of seeking vulnerable individuals for political gains. Potty, who represented Kottarakkara constituency for three terms, stated she left CPI(M) due to feeling neglected and ideological differences.
