
India has significantly improved its global standing in drug standards, rising from 123rd to 8th in WHO pharmacovigilance contributions, according to Union Health Minister J. P. Nadda. This progress was highlighted during the release of the Indian Pharmacopoeia 2026, the 10th edition of India's official drug standards book. The new edition incorporates advancements and global best practices, strengthening standards for critical therapeutic categories and reflecting India's growing role in pharmaceutical manufacturing and regulation.
