India's PMAY-G Scheme: 3.86 Crore Rural Houses Sanctioned, 2.92 Crore Completed

The Indian government has reported significant progress on the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) scheme. As of December 9, 2025, out of a cumulative target of 4.14 crore houses, 3.86 crore have been sanctioned and 2.92 crore completed. The scheme, aiming for 'Housing for All' by 2029, was extended by the Union Cabinet in August 2024 to construct an additional 2 crore rural houses by 2029. The PM-JANMAN scheme also integrates housing for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups.
