Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Suvendu Adhikari alleged he was attacked by Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers on Saturday night while returning from Purulia to Paschim Medinipur. Adhikari claimed the attack occurred in the presence of police, who he accused of inaction. He staged a sit-in protest inside the Chandrakona Police Station, demanding arrests and accountability. The TMC has largely dismissed the allegations, with some local leaders suggesting it was public anger rather than an organized party attack. BJP workers also protested the incident in various locations across West Bengal.
