
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann reported significant progress in the state's fight against drugs and organized crime. Since 2022, over 85,000 drug smugglers have been arrested, with 63,000 cases registered. In 2025 alone, 30,144 FIRs were filed and 40,302 smugglers apprehended. Mann highlighted a multi-pronged strategy involving enforcement, de-addiction, and prevention, alongside substantial drug and cash recoveries. He also noted the arrest of 916 gangsters since January 1, 2025, and an 88% conviction rate under the NDPS Act.
