Swedish Coast Guard Boards Tanker Suspected of False Flag in Baltic Sea

The Swedish coast guard boarded the 228-meter tanker Sea Owl I near Trelleborg, suspecting it of sailing under a false flag and belonging to the Russian shadow fleet. The ship, flying the Comorian flag, is on several sanctions lists, including the EU's. Authorities are investigating false documents and maritime safety threats. This follows a similar boarding of the vessel Caffa, also suspected of stateless status, in the same area last week. No detentions have been made so far.
