The government has launched the Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (DDKY) to enhance agriculture in 100 under-performing districts with an annual budget of Rs 24,000 crore over six years. The scheme promotes quality seed supply, cultivation of gram, mustard, sunflower, vegetables, fisheries, and bee-keeping. Implemented through convergence of 36 central and state schemes and private sector CSR funds, DDKY has led to increased cropping areas and productivity in districts like Nanded, Jalore, and Churu.
