On Tuesday, the Public Works Departments and urban development agencies of Delhi and neighboring NCR states signed Memoranda of Understanding with expert institutes to implement a standard framework aimed at reducing road dust pollution, a major contributor to PM10 levels in the region. The initiative, overseen by Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav, focuses on improving road design, greening measures, and maintenance protocols. A special task force will assess social impacts and identify congested roads, while drought-resistant plants have been selected for open areas to aid pollution control.
