Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has criticized the Congress party's campaign against the replacement of MGNREGA with the new Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act. Chouhan described the Congress's concerns as 'purely political' and 'crocodile tears,' alleging the party previously reduced MGNREGA budgets and froze wages. He asserted the new Act strengthens rural employment by increasing days, providing unemployment allowance, and empowering local bodies, while ensuring transparency and direct wage payments.
