The Odisha government has announced Rs 10 lakh in financial aid for the family of a tribal woman killed in a land dispute, and up to Rs 75,000 for house damage assistance following a subsequent clash. Decisions were made at a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, based on a ministerial team's visit to Malkangiri district. The team discussed issues with tribal and Bengali settler communities. The clash involved the burning of over 200 houses after the woman's body was found. Police have made arrests, and prohibitory orders are in place.
