Golam Nabi Azad, son of Janata Unnayan Party chief Humayun Kabir, was detained in Murshidabad, West Bengal, for allegedly assaulting a policeman assigned to his father's security. The constable filed a complaint alleging assault when he requested leave. Kabir claims his son intervened when the policeman attempted to assault him and alleges the detention is politically motivated, threatening protests. The Trinamool Congress stated police acted lawfully and the party is not involved.
