Kerala is set to conduct the Houselisting and Housing Census, the first phase of the nationwide Census 2027, over a one-month period between April and September 2026. This will be followed by Phase II, Population Enumeration, in February 2027. The census aims to gather data on housing quantity, quality, amenities, and assets, and will involve the deployment of teachers as enumerators. The State government has approved preliminary arrangements and the appointment of census functionaries.
