Ludhiana's Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain has ordered immediate installation of safety measures like cat's eyes, reflectors, and blinkers on high-risk road stretches and canal-side roads within five days. He also directed officials to ensure heavy vehicles, buses, and tractor-trolleys are equipped with retro-reflective tapes to improve visibility during dense fog. Additionally, accident-prone areas will see enhanced signage, speed barriers, and rumble strips, with strict action promised against modified and overloaded vehicles.
