
India and Africa are strengthening their defense and security partnership, with a focus on counter-terrorism and maritime security. Prime Minister Modi's recent visit to Addis Ababa highlighted the need for deeper integration, following up on the India-Africa Forum Summit. Discussions are underway for the IVth edition of the summit. Past initiatives include the 2020 Lucknow Declaration, which led to proposals for defense academies in African nations and deployment of training teams. India also supports African Standby Forces and peacekeeping centers, drawing on its extensive UN peacekeeping experience.
