Maharashtra's 29 municipal corporations are facing a significant staff shortage for simultaneous elections. While larger bodies like BMC manage with their own workforce, smaller corporations, particularly in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, are requesting assistance from district collectorates. Staff have been reassigned from talukas within Palghar and Thane districts to support election duties in corporations like Mira-Bhayandar, Vasai-Virar, and Bhiwandi-Nizampur, with Thane district alone requiring approximately 43,000 personnel.
