India has established its own standard, IS 19445:2025, for bomb disposal systems to enhance security forces' response to threats. Developed by the Bureau of Indian Standards at the request of the Union home ministry, this benchmark aims to ensure law-enforcement agencies source reliable, safe equipment. Previously, international standards were not fully aligned with Indian operational conditions, and domestic manufacturers lacked quality evaluation benchmarks, potentially leaving security gaps. This new standard is expected to strengthen internal security preparedness and safety infrastructure for agencies like the NSG and CISF.
