Indian security forces, including the Border Security Force (BSF) and Meghalaya Police, have categorically denied claims made by Bangladesh Police and media that suspects in the murder of student leader Sharif Osman Hadi entered India through the Meghalaya border. BSF Inspector General O.P. Upadhyay described the reports as 'false, fabricated, and misleading,' stating there is no evidence of any cross-border movement or arrests. Meghalaya Police also confirmed no intelligence corroborates the suspects' presence in the Garo Hills region. Officials highlighted inconsistencies in Bangladeshi reports and the implausibility of undetected travel from Dhaka.
