West Bengal Requests Election Commission to Withdraw FIR Directive Against Poll Officials

The state argues that departmental actions, including suspensions, have been taken and that criminal prosecution is disproportionate. The state's Advocate General also advised against FIRs, while the EC has issued repeated directives to lodge the FIRs, which remain unfiled amid ongoing administrative conflict.
