Ladakh Buddhist Associations Request Anti-Conversion Law Citing Communal Concerns

The Zanskar Buddhist Association (ZBA) and Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) have called for the enactment of an anti-conversion law in Ladakh, citing concerns over alleged forced religious conversions, particularly through marriage. The ZBA highlighted a case of a missing Buddhist woman suspected to be abducted for conversion, while the LBA warned that such activities could threaten communal harmony and regional stability. Both associations urge government intervention to prevent coercive conversions and protect social balance in the Union Territory.
