While acknowledging that the decision to deploy the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) is open to debate, he highlighted the Modi government's efforts to recognize the troops' valor and contributions at all levels. The operation, following a 1987 peace accord, resulted in around 1,200 Indian soldier casualties amid efforts to restore peace in Tamil-dominated regions.
