Punjab Government Orders Removal of Unclaimed and Confiscated Vehicles from City Areas

The Punjab government has directed the removal of all unclaimed, scrapped, abandoned, and confiscated vehicles from police stations, traffic police yards, municipal properties, and city roads to designated yards outside urban areas within 30 days. This initiative aims to enhance public safety, sanitation, traffic management, and infrastructure use. Local Government Minister Sanjeev Arora highlighted risks such as fire hazards, disease breeding grounds, traffic obstruction, and environmental contamination caused by these vehicles. Joint teams will conduct surveys and oversee the relocation process.
