Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated 45 'Atal Canteens' across the city, offering nutritious meals for Rs 5, to commemorate the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The scheme, a BJP manifesto promise, aims to provide affordable food with dignity to daily wage workers, the poor, and vulnerable sections. A total of 100 canteens are planned, with the remaining 55 to become operational soon. The government has allocated over Rs 104 crore for the initiative, which includes a digital token system and quality checks.
