
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has temporarily shut 20 gas-based crematorium furnaces to prioritize LPG supply for households amid disruptions caused by the West Asia conflict involving Israel, the US, and Iran. Following a March 5 directive from the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, propane and butane are being reserved mainly for domestic use. Electric crematorium furnaces and those with pollution control systems remain operational to ensure funeral services continue.
