Home Ministry Plans Policy to Integrate Ex-Agniveers into Central Armed Police Forces

The Union Home Ministry is preparing a comprehensive policy to integrate former Agniveers—personnel recruited under the Agnipath scheme—into the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has formed a committee to develop an action plan detailing the proportion and roles of Agniveers within CAPF, with considerations such as utilizing Navy-trained Agniveers for port security. The government has reserved 10 percent of constable vacancies for ex-Agniveers, with plans to increase this quota to 50 percent in some forces. Final decisions on responsibilities and reservation patterns are pending ministry directives.
