Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring announced plans to field at least 70 new faces in the 2027 Assembly polls, aiming to address voter fatigue with repeatedly nominated leaders. The party, which faced internal factionalism throughout the year, believes this strategy, alongside retaining 47 experienced leaders, will revitalize its prospects. Warring emphasized that new candidates would be selected from existing party roles and aligned with Rahul Gandhi's vision for fresh leadership, while asserting his own lack of ambition for the Chief Minister post.
