
The Karnataka government has launched an automated property mutation system allowing farmland owners to update khata records via mobile devices without visiting revenue offices. Tested successfully in Mandya district, the system automatically approves changes after a 7- or 15-day public notice period unless objections arise. Objections trigger a review by the tahsildar's court. The initiative aims to simplify processes, reduce officials' workload, and enhance citizen convenience through the Bhoomi portal.
