On February 28, amid US-Israel strikes targeting Iranian military and regime facilities, a widely used Iranian prayer app, BadeSaba Calendar, was reportedly hacked to send messages urging Iranian military personnel to defect and join opposition forces. The notifications, appearing in Persian over about 30 minutes, promised amnesty for those who laid down arms. While no group claimed responsibility, cybersecurity experts and reports attribute the operation to Israel. Iranian state media and websites also faced cyberattacks amid a significant drop in network traffic.
