The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has completed mandatory biometric updates for approximately 1.2 crore children aged 7 to 15 across more than 1.03 lakh schools nationwide. Launched in September 2025, the mission mode drive integrates with the Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE) to track update status and organize camps at schools. The biometric updates, free until October 2025, facilitate authentication for government schemes, scholarships, and competitive exams like NEET, JEE, and CUET. Children can also update biometrics at Aadhaar centres.
