The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has completed mandatory biometric updates for approximately 1.2 crore school children aged 7 to 15 across more than 1.03 lakh schools nationwide. Launched in September 2025, the mission mode drive integrates with the Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE) to track update status and organize camps at schools. The biometric updates, free until October 1, 2025, facilitate authentication for government schemes, scholarships, and competitive exams like NEET, JEE, and CUET. UIDAI continues to expand resources and encourages parents to ensure timely updates.
