India observes NDRF Raising Day annually on January 19 to honor the National Disaster Response Force, established in 2006 under the Disaster Management Act. The NDRF comprises 16 battalions with over 1,100 personnel stationed at 68 locations to respond swiftly to disasters. The 10th Battalion, based in Krishna district, conducted 80 operations in 2025, rescuing over 1,600 people and training around 65,000 individuals through awareness programs.
