Himachal Pradesh Plans ₹1,000 Crore Cancer Hospital and Medical Colleges in Hamirpur

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister announced a ₹1,000 crore project to develop a modern cancer hospital, nursing, and dental colleges at Hamirpur Medical College. The initiative aims to provide accessible, quality cancer care within the state, which reports high cancer incidence after the north-eastern states. Eleven specialist departments have been approved for the cancer hospital to offer comprehensive treatment locally. The CM emphasized systemic improvements in medical colleges, replacing outdated equipment, and engaging with doctors to enhance healthcare services statewide.
