
The Uttarakhand government announced the establishment of a second language training centre in Almora under the Chief Minister's Skill Upgradation and Global Employment Scheme, launched in 2023. The scheme provides eight to ten months of foreign language training and employment support abroad. The training budget has increased from Rs 75 lakh to Rs 3.3 crore. So far, 147 students have been trained, with 92 securing jobs in countries including Germany, Japan, and Saudi Arabia. The government is monitoring the safety of employed individuals amid West Asia tensions.
