RTI Activist Seeks Probe into Mosque Beneath Mumbai Metro Line 2B Girder

RTI activist Anil Galgali has called for an independent investigation into the presence of a functional mosque beneath a Metro Line 2B girder at Postal Colony in Chembur, Mumbai. Despite the metro corridor receiving safety clearance and nearing commercial launch, concerns have been raised about public safety and planning lapses. Galgali highlighted multiple revisions to the project's Detailed Project Report and questioned why the mosque was not relocated, citing precedents in other infrastructure projects where religious structures were moved to accommodate construction.
