The Punjab government plans to deploy 200 security guards on an outsourcing basis in district health institutions to address rising concerns over attacks on doctors. This initiative, approved by the Finance Department, aims to provide a secure environment for medical professionals. The guards will be deployed through Punjab Ex-Servicemen Corporation (PESCO) for an initial two-month period, funded by 'User Charges' or the Emergency Response Fund. Future funding from March 2026 onwards will be budgeted for the next financial year.
