Sujoy Paul Sworn In as Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court

Sujoy Paul was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court on January 16, 2026. The oath was administered by West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose at a ceremony held in the Chief Justice's courtroom. Justice Paul was appointed as a judge of the High Court on July 18, 2025, and had been serving as Acting Chief Justice following the retirement of former Chief Justice T.S. Sivagnanam.
