
The Nagaland Cabinet reviewed key issues including the Eastern Nagaland People's Organisation's demand for a separate Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT), oil and natural gas exploration, and land reforms. A sub-committee under the Political Affairs Committee, led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, was formed to coordinate with the Centre. A delegation has gone to New Delhi to discuss the Free Movement Regime and Protected Area Permit. The Cabinet decided to proceed with resource exploration based on Article 371A, following the withdrawal of a related court case, while awaiting a final verdict.
