The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a supplementary chargesheet against two more individuals, Bhargab Gogoi and Sumu Gogoi, in connection with the 2024 Assam Independence Day IED plot, bringing the total accused to five. The Dibrugarh residents were arrested in June 2025 for allegedly providing terror funds to Jahnu Boruah, who admitted to planting IEDs as part of a protest and boycott call by ULFA(I) chief Paresh Baruah. The case, initially registered by Assam Police, involves a broader ULFA(I) conspiracy to target the Indian government.
