Speaking at the 93rd Sivagiri Pilgrimage, Vijayan emphasized Guru's advocacy for humanism, unity, and brotherhood, transcending caste and religion. He criticized attempts to align Guru with Sanatana Dharma, asserting that Guru challenged its rigid structures and promoted a humanitarian philosophy. Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah also attended the event.
