Indian Railways will soon launch nine new Amrit Bharat Express trains connecting West Bengal and Assam with major regions including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra. These non-AC sleeper trains, priced around Rs 500 per 1,000 km, aim to provide affordable, long-distance connectivity for middle- and lower-income passengers. The routes link eastern and sub-Himalayan regions to northern, southern, and western India, supporting migrant workers, students, and travelers. Since December 2023, 30 such trains have been operational, with these nine services expanding network reach.
