A recently carpeted 11-km road connecting Badali Ala Singh and GT Road, costing Rs 11 crore, has begun to deteriorate shortly after its completion. Opposition leaders allege corruption and substandard work, pointing to the bypass of local jurisdiction in assigning the contract. The SDO stated the contractor is repairing patches and will apply a final layer in March. The Deputy Commissioner has assured action, while similar issues are noted on other local roads.
