A daylight murder in Khopoli, Raigad district, has escalated into a political controversy. Mangesh Kalokhe, husband of a newly elected Shiv Sena corporator, was killed, leading to the arrest of seven individuals, including NCP Raigad district president Sudhakar Ghare. Shiv Sena MLA Mahendra Thorve alleged Ghare's closeness to NCP state president Sunil Tatkare, demanding an investigation. Tatkare denied Ghare's connection to the murder and called for a Special Investigation Team. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited the family, promising stringent action against the accused.
