Afghanistan-Pakistan Conflict Intensifies Over Disputed Durand Line Border

Tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan have escalated into what Pakistan's Defence Minister calls "open war," following airstrikes by Pakistan on Kabul and other border cities. The conflict centers on the disputed 2,611-km Durand Line, a colonial-era boundary dividing ethnic Pashtun areas. Afghanistan's Taliban-led government does not formally recognize this border, citing its imposition during British rule.
