Kerala Government Extends State Police Chief's Term and Approves Wage Hike

The Kerala government has extended the term of State Police Chief Ravada A Chandrasekhar by one year, until June 30, 2027. Chandrasekhar assumed office on July 1, 2025, and was initially set to retire this year. The Cabinet also approved a 10% wage increase for contractual employees under the rural employment guarantee scheme, effective April 1, and decided to establish 'Sushakti' self-help groups to empower persons with disabilities through the Kerala State Disabled Welfare Corporation.
